The 30 Players on FIFA's World Player Of The Year Award Shortlist

Ronaldinho (pictured) won in 2004 and 2005, and looked favourite for 2006 until his poor showing at the World Cup. There are also a couple of suspect names on there – how Adriano made the shortlist is a bit of a mystery. I reckon I've had a better 2006 than the world's second most famous overweight Brazilian centre forward.

The 2006 winner will be announced December 18th at the Zurich Opera House, Switzerland.

The Adriano thing threw me for a loop. He’s been pretty much crap for 2 years and someone he got nominated. There are about 10 people on this list that actually deserve this award.

Well, it seems it’s all clear now, Kaka is the man. Congrats and maybe will see Adriano next year
