Frank Lampard gives a master class

Frank Lampard is one of the most talked about players of his generation. He has been runner-up in the world footballer of the year award and has long been regarded as one of the world's finest midfield players.

His wonderful goal scoring and medal winning record with Chelsea, together with his sixty-four England caps prove just what a great player he is.

Unfortunately, I have never been able to see what it is that makes him such a fine player. I love football and I can usually see the brilliance in most of the raved about players, but in Frank's case I have always been left scratching my head and wondering what all the fuss was about.

Yesterday, in Chelsea's game against Aston Villa Frank Lampard gave an absolute master class on how to play the game. He was exceptional. His touch, passing and movement were all spectacularly good. I have no doubt that Frank does this week in and week out and that it was just me who had a blind spot. I am just so relieved that I can finally understand what everyone else is talking about.

Two clever passes created the two goals and absolutely everything good that Chelsea did went through Lampard. At long last, I have become a member of the Frank Lampard fan club!
