A global journey…

US Women’s Soccer Team To Face Brazil

In the ongoing women's soccer world cup, US team's 2-1 loss to Sweden means they will be facing Brazil in the quarter-finals which is not only undefeated in the tournament so far, but is also yet to concede a goal. Brazil was the team that ended the US campaign in the previous world cup.
The soccer team's losses to Mexico, Sweden and England in the past few months had already rung the alarm bells. This loss has further enhanced that the US team, which won the 1991 and 1999 soccer world cups, is no more an invincible team.
The US team needed only a draw in the game against Sweden to avoid playing Brazil, but instead it suffered a loss, making the road to soccer world cup a difficult one.The loss prevented US from topping their group, in which case they would have played comparative soccer minnows Australia.
