The US and Mexico will be having a soccer friendly sooner than expected according to the authorities. The CONCACAF soccer rivals will face each other on August 10.
The match will be played at the Lincoln Financial Field at Philadelphia. This soccer match is a follow up to the humiliating 4-2 defeat that the US team suffered at the Gold Cup final. The team line up will be the same since the match is on a FIFA international fixture date which guarantees the presence of all the players playing in Europe. The match promises to be an interesting affair as both the teams will field full strength squads.
After the Gold Cup final, Mexico now has a record of three straight wins against USA which includes the soccer World Cup qualifying fixtures.
The two sides had a 2-2 draw the last time they faced each other in a soccer friendly which was in February of 2008 held at Houston. US has a dismal record against Mexico under Coach Bob Bradley with only one win in the last five matches.
After this friendly the US team is also going to face Costa Rica and Belgium in separate friendly matches on Sept. 2 and Sept. 6 respectively.
