Walcott Drops Down To Under-21s

Theo Walcott has been named in Peter Taylor's England Under-21 squad to face Moldova, Steve McLaren sending a clear message that Walcott didn't belong at the World Cup. Darren Bent and Scott Carson are the other big names included (or excluded, depending on which way you look at it.)

"I wanted Darren, Scott and Theo to have the chance to play some competitive Under-21s football," said McLaren. "Darren has just come back from injury, Theo has not yet played a Premiership game and Scott faces stiff competition for games at Liverpool. The Moldova match will be very positive for all three of them."
