News on the USA's search for a new coach is hard to find, but Grant Wahl has managed to track down a few important odds and ends. It all points to Jürgen Klinsmann eventually taking the post, but here are excerpts from Wahl's article, indicating what he managed to glean timetable wise.
"Sunil Gulati is about done with his fist round of interviews, and will soon begin the second stage."
"Several members of the U.S. Soccer board of directors are expecting a vote to confirm Gulati's coaching choice (and the contractual terms) at their next meeting on Nov. 12 in Frisco, Texas, during MLS Cup weekend."
"Gulati did speak with former England coach Sven-Göran Eriksson about the job, as Eriksson's assistant recently confirmed, but neither Eriksson nor ex-Argentina coach José Pekerman (another reported interviewee) are considered strong candidates for the job."
"Gulati, according to sources, has had preliminary discussions with several MLS coaches as well, including Bob Bradley, Frank Yallop, Peter Nowak, Sigi Schmid, Dave Sarachan and Steve Nicol."
"[Jürgen]Klinsmann mentioned nothing about his interest (or lack thereof) in the U.S. job, and he asked if we could wait until November or December to talk on the record."
