Vieira To Manchester United? He Wouldn't Would He?

Reports are appearing that Patrick Vieira could be on his way to Manchester United for a fee of around £12 million. As expected, Vieira isn't keen of playing in Serie B with Juventus and will no doubt fancy a return to the Premiership.

That the former Arsenal captain could be lining up for the home team at Old Trafford seemed unthinkable just over a year ago, but it seems that was more due to Wenger's reluctance to sell to Fergie than anything to do with Vieira.

He is exactly the player Ferguson needs, not only to replace Roy keane but to solve his shortage of quality in central midfield. There were rumours that Vieira isn't the player he once was, but his World Cup performances for France suggest otherwise. With Makelele as the out and out defensive midfielder, and Zidane the out and out attacking midfielder, Vieira was his old box to box self at the World Cup.
