A global journey…

Thierry Henry was not happy with his goal against CSKA Moscow was disallowed, and the Arsenal striker was even less impressed with being booked.

Three minutes of highlights below, but if you're looking for just the handball incident then it's right at the end. Was it handball? Who can tell, but have a look anyway and take your best guess…

Open letter to the Head of UEFA: Dear Mr. Blatter: I am just an average fan of football but I’m flabbergasted and have been so for the last few seasons because the beautiful game has stopped being that for me. How can we tolerate such terrible refereeing decisions over and over again that change the course of games giving the undeserving sides victory and rewarding cheating of the highest order and mediocre refereeing. Why, oh why are you resisting technology? We have seen in the NFL, the U.S. Open how little time and disruption is involved in simply using video replays to correct wrong calls. The fourth official can have a video viewer and take less than 10 seconds to overturn a bad refereeing decision. Are you really so old that you are afraid of technology? Is that why only the very old become the head of UEFA? Arsenal were unjustly deprived of a well-earned draw because of a very, very bad referee and because you refuse to allow video replays which have been so effective in Rugby, American Football and Tennis. Please don’t fear technology and save the game from disrepute. With one brave and bold move, you can rid the game of diving, elbowing, bad refereeing and return soccer to the mantle of the beautiful game again. Please, please, please……

The clearest sign that Henry didn’t handle the ball is that none of the CSKA players raised their hand when it allegedly happened. Most refs do take that into account if there is any question of doubt.

    Hi,
This is a post in which i want to make a point to UEFA match officials for their immediate action and response. Thierry henry from his first reaction it seemed to be a hand ball but surely it wasn’t. Refree if he was not very clear, should be made to discuss with the officials outside the field to have clear idea of what is happening. This is pretty ordinary refreeing which will affect the spirit of this lively and beautiful game called FOOTBALL.

I suggest this should be seriously taken by the match officials who are officiating the tournament for the better decisions to be taken on and off the field. Last but not the least thrive on the Technology if you are not pretty sure. I accept there will be error in Technologies also but not atleast in this scenario.
Let’s hope for the best in the rest of the tournament.
