Video: Highlights Barcelona 2-2 Chelsea
Filed in archive Champions League by daryl on November 1, 2006

Maybe YouTube isn't dead for footy highlights after all, Champions League ones at least. This nearly ten minute highlights video of Barcelona and Chelsea battle royale at the Nou Camp is solid entertainment.

In some ways this game was a disgrace, lots of immature argie bargie and handbags at dawn. But there were occasional flashes of great football and a genuine sense of occasion (which isn't always true of Champions League group games.)

Great goals from Deco and Gudjohnsen. I know the former Chelsea and Bolton man just tapped it in, but loved the skills from Ronaldinho down the left to make Boulahrouz look like a chump. And as for Drogba. How calm was that first touch with his chest, in the 203rd minute no less? Top man. Lampard's goal, much as I like him, was a cross and he knows it.

And finally, how can you not enjoy John Terry kicking that ball in Deco's face to prove he wasn't really injured? It's the footballing equivalent of the scene in "Saw' where the villain shocks the guy to check if he's dead. Maybe someone should do the same to Barca's Champions League hopes...
