The U.S. Soccer federation together with the men's player's union, announced that the two sides approved an agreement that will go all the way through 2010.
Both Robert Contiguglia, the Soccer President, and USNSTPA executive director Mark Levinstein issued statements of support for the agreement and looked to move forward.
There seemed to be relief on both sides as the Men's National Team had recently completed their advance to the 2006 FIFA World Cup in , with the team's most successful year in their history. They won the final round of World Cup qualifying for CONCACAF for the first time. Their 13-3-4 record was the best year they have ever had, as was also their winning percentage.
The players will need all their attention on the task at hand, as they were drawn into the powerful Group E with the Czech Republic, and for the 2006 World Cup. It will start on June 9, 2006.
