Unlucky Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse broke his right leg playing for France in their 3-1 friendly win over China. He'll miss the World Cup obviously (and I was expecting him to make an impact) but worse for Cisse is the he was just beginning to look like the player Liverpool thought they were getting from Auxerre. Cisse broke his left leg in the 2004/5 season, and was only just returning to form as the 2005/6 season closed, despite rumours that Rafa Benitez was looking to move him on.
"It's so tough, to hear Djibril scream like that," teammate Thierry Henry said. "You lose a teammate and also a friend. But he is tough, he will come back."
One thing's for sure, Liverpool won't be selling him any time soon.
