The List: Football References That Aren't Funny Anymore

1. Referring to Chelsea as "Chelski." It was funny the first time, but it's been a while.

2. Lookalikes. Someone looks like someone else. So what?

3. Peter Crouch's height. He's tall, we get it.

4. Saying Liverpool players names in a faux Scouse accent. Except for Jamie Carragher, that's still funny.

5. Referring to Arsenal's ground as "the library." The pun on Highbury doesn't work now they've moved to Ashburton Grove. If you have to continue, may I humbly suggest Sshhburton Grove.

6. Calling Jose Mourinho "Moaninho." It doesn't quite work does it?

7. Suggesting Graeme Le Saux is homosexual, just because he was smart enough to get a degree and read The Guardian.

8. Calling Robbie Savage a "gypo." He's not, he's a millionaire.

    9. Asking ‘serious question: what will Chelsea do if Roman gets bored?’ Since he attends every single match, there’s no indication that that will happen. Get used to it, he’s here to say.

    10. ‘Rafa Benitez’ is a tactical genius. Yeah, that would explain how all those pundits have rapidly denied that they ever suggested that Liverpool would be mounting a serious title challenge this season.

    10. Liverpool fans are the bestest in the world ever. That is, apart from the ones responsible for the most unsavoury incidents the English game has ever seen. And that’s not only flinging human faeces at Manchester United last season.

Seems the latest “nickname” for Chelsea is “Chavski”, which is even less amusing than the original.
