Team of the Week: Liverpool

For the inaugural Team of the Week, because of the winter break in the rest of Europe, I came to the painful decision to award it to liverpool. I thought about the Reds and Chelsea and sides like Reading in the Championship, but in the end, it has to go to Benitez's Liverbirds for rebounding from a disappointing defeat in Yokohama versus Sao Paolo, to come home to three successive wins, only allowing one goal in the process. The Christmas program is almost over for Liverpool and they sit third, with two games in hand on Manchester United just above them.

Chelsea, while they won all their fixtures in this busy week, didn't look as inspiring versus Manchester City, and leaked two goals against Fulham on Boxing Day.
