Welcome to Transfer / Shmansfer, the sparkly new Soccer-Weblog feature in which we take all the juicy tabloid transfer gossip (also known as 'the Chelsea news') and decide whether it will come to pass or not. If we think it will happen (Ballack to Chelsea?) it's a Transfer, but if it's just silly talk (remember when little Juninho was supposed to be joining even littler Aston Villa
?) then it's a Shmansfer. Todays rumours:
Shaun Wright-Phillips to rejoin Manchester City on a season-long loan.
Shmansfer! SWP may be on his way out of Chelsea but there are enough potential suitors (Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs etc) willing to pay for a permanent deal.
Transfer! Bayer Leverkusen's (formerly?) mullet haired sporting director Rudi Voller says a transfer fee has been agreed, and it's up to Berbatov now. Only stumbling block is potential interest from Arsenal and Manchester United.
Pires to reject Bolton and Blackburn and sign for Villareal.
Transfer! Lancashire or Spain, Lancashire or Spain? Exactly.
Spurs also chasing Bellamy, Neill and Chimbonda.
Shmansfer(ish)!: All three are speculation based on what Spurs seem to need and what may be available. Plus it has to be either Neill or Chimbonda, not both.
Transfer! Robert is the sort of lazy so and so that will always be on the move, as coach after coach is somehow convinced they're the one to show the frustrating Frenchman the value of hard work. Robert's compatriot and new Rangers manager Paul Le Guen is the latest in a long line of suckers.
