A global journey…

The Brazil vs Argentina game at Emirates Stadium on September 3rd is getting a lot of people pretty excited. Including me. Both teams have new coaches, the ground will be a 60,000 sell out, and both teams currently have 33 victories each in this fixture. Whoever wins will have the upper hand, historically speaking. For the record, it's a 4 p.m. kick off, live on BBC in England. In the US it's an 11 a.m. kick off, live on GolTV.

Here are the two squads for the game, lovingly cut and pasted from the BBC website (though transfers have been updated).

Brazil squad:

Goalkeepers: Gomes (PSV Eindhoven, Netherlands), Fabio (Cruzeiro)

Defenders: Cicinho (Real Madrid), Maicon (Inter Milan), Marcelo (Fluminense), Gilberto (Hertha Berlin), Luisao (Benfica), Alex (PSV Eindhoven), Lucio (Bayern Munich), Juan (Bayer Leverkusen)

Midfielders: Gilberto Silva (Arsenal), Edmilson (Barcelona), Dudu Cearense (CSKA Moscow), Kaka (AC Milan), Ronaldinho (Barcelona), Elano (Shakhtar Donetsk), Julio Baptista (Arsenal)

Forwards: Robinho (Real Madrid), Fred (Olympique Lyon), Vagner Love (CSKA Moscow), Rafael Sobis (Internacional), Daniel Carvalho (CSKA Moscow)

Argentina squad:

Goalkeepers: Roberto Abbondanzieri (Getafe), Leo Franco (Atletico Madrid)

Defenders: Leonardo Ponzio (Real Zaragoza), Fabricio Coloccini (Deportivo Coruna), Gabriel Milito (Real Zaragoza), Walter Samuel (Inter Milan), Clemente Rodriguez (Spartak Moscow), Fabricio Fuentes (Atlas)

Midfielders: Javier Mascherano (West Ham!), Pablo Zabaleta (Espanyol), Maxi Rodriguez (Atletico Madrid), Juan Roman Riquelme, Leandro Somoza (both Villarreal), Luis Gonzalez (Porto), Federico Insua (Borussia Moenchengladbach)

Forwards: Lionel Messi (Barcelona), Carlos Tevez (West Ham!), Sergio Aguero (Atletico Madrid), Daniel Bilos (St Etienne), Cesar Delgado (Cruz Azul), Javier Saviola (Barcelona)

PS-I’m new to the world of blogging, but this is by far the best site I have seen yet! Fantastic work!

Argentina’s no. 21 was Federico InsĂșa.

    He plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach.
