A global journey…

If you don't fall into the gambling crowd then you have probably never bet on sports. You probably would not even know how to go about betting on sports if you wanted to place your first wager. For the same reason, you may be a big gambler on the dogs but you will find gambling on sports, and each individual sport, is very different.

Have no fear. Sports betting is so popular, and so common, that the internet is awash with resources to tell you how to do it. Soccer betting though is similar to betting on the NHL or baseball. If you are used to money-line betting you will not have a problem understanding betting on soccer. The only difference in soccer betting is that you can bet on either team and, you can also bet on a tie. The biggest bets are placed on soccer during the world cup which is held every four years.

Like any game, if you really want to gamble you need to learn about the teams and the individual player. Knowing who is playing can change the odds based on their known skills, previous tackles and scores, and if they have played on the same filed and how they performed. That means spending time watching games, understanding the statistics, even knowing how a ref might call some of the plays.

If you think you may want to place a bet on an upcoming soccer game, spend some time learning about the players and the game.
