We've gone full circle for the first time in World Cup 2010's group stages. It took until the last game before coming back round to Group A for us to have our first major upset, and it came in the form of favourites Spain losing 1-0 to Switzerland. It was, albeit arguably, only down to the arrogant stubbornness of manager del Bosque that one of the most followed footballing nations in the world yet to win the torunament have gotten off to such a bad start. Del Bosque refused to play Torres up front with Villa who was then, of course, rather useless, and he left out the two other first team players who ply their trade in the Premier League. It's inevitable that Pepe Reina be left on the bench leaving a place of Real Madrid's Iker Casillas on the pitch, but the choice of Busquets over Cesc Fabregas in a game they should do nothing else but win is baffling.

The group stages continue with the return to the first time to Group A. South Africa host Uruguay, who conservatively held France to a draw in their first fixture, and a win for either side would make qualification for the knock out rounds almost certain.
