Absolutely bizarre transfer rumour of the day is Sol Campbell's possible move to Turkish side Fenerbahce. He's had a rough season with Arsenal, but he ended it on a sort of high by scoring and looking back to his solid best in the Champions League Final. Rumour is that Fenerbahce have bid around 8 million pounds, and offered Campbell around 70,000 pounds a week.
I can understand why Arsenal would accept this. Campbell is 31 years old, and they can look to the great form of Toure and Senderos, but surely this is a step down for the big defender. Turkey is where players like Mike marsh go, where managers like Graeme Souness go, and where second rate sulky strikers like Nicolas Anelka go. There's also the racism to consider, remember all the trouble Kevin Campbell had, despite some good performances?
I've got a horrible feeling that Campbell's will accept this move (this is a rumour so bizarre it would be impossible to make up) but fingers crossed the big man comes to his senses.

Well Arsenal’s second team is in Turkey. Why is it so surprising ? I’m kidding of course. If the team doesn’t want you anymore you need to get your things packed and look for another “job” / contract.

I don’t think that’s true. In my opinion Sol’s transfer is just a rumor. I always wait for the official anouncement.

I think that can be true, he is 31, and fenerbahce spending lots of money on the players like him, he can be again a star in Turkey.Anyway We’ll see it..

It’s good to see the big man came to his senses and is now making a living with Portsmouth. Going to Turkey would have been a large mistake.
