Puff Daddy To Spend Weekend With Wayne Rooney. No, Seriously.

We try to maintain high standards here at Soccer Weblog. We try not to resort to celebrity gossip. But when Wayne Rooney wins a charity auction (hosted by the Beckhams) to spend a weekend with Puff Daddy... what can we do?

Apparently Diddy (or whatever) plans to "close down macy's and Barney's so [Wayne's] lovely lady can go shopping and Wayne can help me pick some girls for some of the videos I'm working on."

Has Diddy underestimated Ms. Colleen McLoughlin, or will she really be distracted by shiny objects long enough for Wayne to look at some video-hos? (that delightful word courtesy of Entourage). I guess we'll find out, though the date for this meeting of minds has yet to be set.

The only thing left to say is... this never would have happened in Stanley Matthews' day.
