Pre-Season Premiership Bingo
Filed in archive Premiership 2006/7 by daryl on July 24, 2006

Here's a great way of telling when it's time for the Premier League season to start. It's a "Pre-Season Premiership Bingo" card. Once you complete a horizontal or vertical line of five, it's time for kick-off.

By Soccer-Weblog's calculations, here's what we have so far:

  • "Cannavaro to Real Madrid" Yep.

  • "Transfer falls through because a player fails a medical" - Robert Huth's failed move to Middlesbrough.

  • "Players signs for one club, then less than a day later signs for a completely different club" Didi Hamann to Bolton, then Manchester City.

  • "Liverpool sign a South American player" Take your pick from Mark Gonzalez, Fabio Aurelio and Gabriel Paletta.

  • "Spurs sign yet another midfielder" Didier Zakora, come on down.

  • "Liverpool sign a ne'er do well striker, who was a boyhood fan" Sounds like Craig Bellamy.

  • "Chelsea buy a player just to stop anyone else buying him" This one's open to interpretation, but John Obi-Mikel?

So the card looks like this:

I make that approximately 26 days till kick-off.
