It is reported that Police are going to investigate racial and homophobic abuse directed at Portsmouth and former England defender Sol Campbell at Fratton Park during the side's 2-0 win over his former club Tottenham on Sunday.
The thirty-four year old Portsmouth captain has been hugely unpopular with Spurs fans since 2001 when he left The Club and moved to their bitter north London rivals Arsenal.
Police had initially said the scale of the taunts meant no arrests could be made. The sheer number of people joining in meant that the police could take no action at the time.
I truly hope that those responsible are located, charged and banned from football. I find it unbelievable that anyone is still ignorant enough to shout this type of disgusting abuse.
Harry Redknapp called the abuse Campbell received, "filthy". That goes nowhere near close enough to describing it.
