The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) have signed a new deal with nike for $12 million a year until 2018, a payrise of 0% from the last deal.
$12 million might sound like a lot, but given the degree to which Nike pimps Brazilian soccer in it's commercials the sneaker salespeople are surely having a laugh with this sum. If you've ever seen their television commercials (the 'young Ronaldinho' one featured on this very website for example) or seen their print ads or visited their website you'll be left in no doubt that Nike has co-opted Brazilian football. If I was the CBF I'd be demanding a lot more.

I think it’s very bad true, but you must remember also that Brazilian Football is full of corruption – it may be true that Nike only ‘officially’ paid $12m
But you are right, Nike makes millions from the Beautiful Brazilian team and piggy-backs on their fun-loving personalities cynically. They are everyone’s favourite team because they all seem to be nice guys!!

Brazilian soccer team is very popular in many countries of the world- specially in the Asian countries. I just feel that Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) needs some good marketing professionals to make the best of its popularity.
