Nike Are Ripping Off Brazil

pickyourshoes.com

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) have signed a new deal with nikelinks for $12 million a year until 2018, a payrise of 0% from the last deal.

$12 million might sound like a lot, but given the degree to which Nike pimps Brazilian soccer in it's commercials the sneaker salespeople are surely having a laugh with this sum. If you've ever seen their television commercials (the 'young Ronaldinho' one featured on this very website for example) or seen their print ads or visited their website you'll be left in no doubt that Nike has co-opted Brazilian football. If I was the CBF I'd be demanding a lot more.
