A global journey…

The Premiership isn't keen on YouTube, even though the online video sharing site has done wonders to increase the reach of Thierry Henry, Wayne Rooney, Hayden Mullins and co. They've even been bullying blogs, which is a definite netiquette no-no.

MLS on the other hand needs the extra exposure and has very smartly teamed up with YouTube to provide their own channel featuring goals, highlights, player interviews and all kinds of other stuff. There's very little money to be made in doing this, but MLS knows this is a great way to get the word out on their underrated footy league.

If they can get the world watching exciting games like the one above, where Kansas City Wizards beat New England Revolution 4-3 thanks to an Eddie Johnson hat-trick, then that has to be good. And expect YouTube's MLS channel to see a huge spike in visitors when Becks makes his arrival on the west coast.

Anyone know what the average starting salary is for an MLS player signed to straight out of college?
