Leo Messi has squashed rumours that he could be heading to Real Madrid
in a big money move. "This speculation does not worry or bother me and it is not important as they know that I will not go to Madrid," said Messi. "Leo Messi will not be bought with money, I am not for sale, it does not depend on a buy-out clause, but simply that I do not want to leave Barcelona. I owe a lot to Barca, the people here have treated me very well and I want to stay, making history along with Ronaldinho and the others."
Not sure where this rumour started, but I think it comes from all contracts in Spanish football having a buy-out clause. Technically, Barcelona would have to accept a Madrid bid that met the buyout amount, so they'll be relieved that Messi has pledged his future.
