Managerial Merry Go Round, 2007 version

It's the end of the Premiership season, and already there's plenty of hiring and firing going on. Newcastle have shown Glenn Roeder the St James' exit, Big Sam has left Bolton, Man City have sacked Stuart Pearce, and Paul Jewell has resigned becausekeeping Wigan in the Premiership is to stressful to do three years in a row.

This usually sets off an "all change" merry go round, but with the exception of Big Sam likely being unveiled as Newcastle boss today, there won't be any trading places as clubs are promoting from withing. Little Sammy Lee has stepped up from coaching to wear Big Sam's earpiece at Bolton (hope he gave it a rinse) and Wigan have promoted Jewell's assistant Chris Hutchings, whose last experience was replacing the same man at Bradford in exactly the same circumstances, which didn't go so well.

Most interesting will be the fate of Stuart Pearce. Tipped to replace Sven as England manager after about ten minutes in charge at Man City, it's been downhill ever since. He will be England Under 21 manager during this summer's European Championships, but after that it's unclear what he wants to do. He may have difficulty getting a job as high profile as the one he just lost though.
