Relax. I'm not in favour of dropping David Beckham from the England team, and he should still wear the England armband, though only because it's convenient.
But I do think that, like Real Madrid, Sven should give Becks just a little taste of the bench, to remind the lad he's not untouchable. Sitting in the England dugout, from the start in one of the World Cup warm up games and watching little Shaun Wright-Phillips scamper up and down the touchline should provide ample motivation for the Police sunglasses salesman to regain his best form.
