Leo Messi Gets Jumped

This footage of a crazy (I think it's fair to say she's crazy) female fan throwing herself at Leo Messi during the current Copa America is 1) funny and 2) funny.

It also got me thinking... does this mean Messi is already a superstar? I mean he's played fairly regularly for Barca and fairly regularly for Argentina and he always always looks dangerous. Certainly he has name recognition and apparently the ladies are into him (enough to risk damaging their limbs anyway) but for some reason he's still not in the Ronaldinho category.

Maybe it's because due to his youth he's not a definite starter or a guy that either team relies on (though he would be relied on if he was playing for teams that didn't already have Ronaldinho and Riquelme respectively) in the way they do other players. What I mean is that even though he always looks dangerous he's not the playmaker/orchestrator type yet, who dictates the flow of the game. I'm guessing that will come with maturity and we'll start to see the little man be even more influential for both teams in 07/08. If he avoids being crushed by falling fans of course.
