World Cup bound Ivory Coast beat a jealous non-World Cup bound Cameroon on penalties to reach the African Nations Cup semi-final. A place in the last four was important enough but bubbling away beneath the surface was the feeling it should be the more established Cameroon, with star players like Samuel Eto'o, who should be going to Germany and not their opponents.

Ironically it was Eto'o who missed the crucial penalty as Ivory Coast won a dramatic 13-12 shootout following the 1-1 draw. Chelsea's Didier Drogba then stepped up to win the game for The elephantslinks and signal a transference of power in Africa.
