The Guardian are speculating that the Italian match fixing scandal could threaten Italy's Euro 2012 bid.
It definitely raises questions about the Italia 2012 logo (pictured). What's that handshake all about? Is one of them a referee? etc...
The Euro 2012 vote takes place in December this year, and the Italian Football Federation will need to get itself sorted out before then. The alternative bids for Euro 2012 are two joint proposals from Poland/Ukraine and Hungary/Croatia.
My feeling is that Italy doesn't need to be punished further. Their bid is the most attractive. They have the stadia and infrastructure, and were clear favourites before the scandal broke. And the harsh punishments handed down to Juve, Fiorentina, Lazio and (sort of) Milan are proof that they're cleaning house.
