England

Even though Wayen Rooney is playing like a drunken gorilla with two left feet, it seems his place in the England side is certain. Steve McClaren said earlier this week that if Rooney is fit, he plays. This implies that Rooney is undroppable, no matter how many passes he miscontrols.
Isn't this the exact same problem we had with Sven and Beckham? More than that, since Sven rushed Rooney back prematurely (about two months prematurely) the kid hasn't looked the same. The best thing now would be for him to have a nice little rest before he either gets completely burned out, or so frustrated that he does something stupid a la the World Cup quarter final incident.

I think Rooney will never be remembered as one of the truely greats in football. He is better than average, nothing more.
