Is David Dunn footballs unluckiest man?
Filed in archive Players by Graham Fisher on September 19, 2008

David Dunn will be reeling from the news that the achilles problem he picked up against Hull on 23rd August is likely to see him out for as much as four months.
Scans he has undertaken show that the injury is another serious one for the unlucky midfielder.
Dunn is a very talented player who was looking somewhere near his best at the start of this season. The last twelve months have seen a series of niggling injuries and he has been blighted by serious injury in the past as well.
Although he managed to play over thirty games last season, the previous four seasons saw him make an average of only around fifteen appearances.
He made one appearance for England back in 2002 just before he picked up his first hamstring injury. It is almost certain that if he had stayed fit, he would have had many more caps.
Now at the age of twenty-eight with another serious injury, Dunn must be wondering just how much more he has got to give.
I hope he recovers fully and quickly.
