Hugo Sanchez Named Mexico Boss
Filed in archive Managers by daryl on November 16, 2006
Real Madrid legend Hugo Sanchez has been named as the new mexican
national team boss. Apparently Mexico's 18 first division clubs voted on the decision (an interesting way of doing things, maybe the FA should try something similar after Steve McClaren's inevitable sacking) to approve Sanchez' appointment.
Sanchez has some big tourneys coming up including the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2007 and Copa America in 2007, where Mexico have the same interesting situation as the USA, competing in the back to back tournaments.
And speaking of the USA, Sanchez' appointment means US fans can relax. They won't be losing Jurgen Klinsmann's coaching skills to their rivals.
For those too young to remember here's a glimpse of Sanchez in action.
