How long until Keano looks for more?
Filed in archive Managers by Graham Fisher on July 25, 2008

Roy Keane is a man who demands success. He has experienced great triumphs in his career as a player and already has one unlikely promotion and a 'reasonably' comfortable first season in the Premier League under his belt as a manager.
The signings he is looking to make, including the confirmed signing of Tottenham's utility player Teemu Tainio, look like signings that are designed to keep Sunderland in the Premier League rather than an effort to push on to the next level.
Although remaining in the top tier or establishing themselves as a mid-table team would be truly great achievements for the manager and the club, it surely won't be long before Keano is looking to develop his career.
He must have looked on enviously when Paul Ince was given the Blackburn job where he will have genuine chances to achieve European football. Keane will want that as soon as possible and if he is honest, he knows he is unlikely to find it where he is.
