After Big Sam Allardyce's shock departure over the weekend, the poisoned chalice that is the task of replacing the man falls to Sammy Lee, henceforth Little Sam. Allardyce changed Bolton from an average Championship (or First Division, or whatever it was called back then) side in 1999 to the perennial Premiership top-10ers they are today. But after so much over-achievement, the smart money is on Bolton post-Allardyce being a lot like Charlton post-Alan Curbishley: rubbish.
Good luck to Little Sam though. All I know about is that he used to play for Liverpool, used to be on the England coaching staff, and that he does a lot of very fast hand clapping when putting players through their paces.
