Giggs and Howard stay
Ryan Giggs and Tim Howard have both signed two-year contract extensions with Manchester United.
Giggs has continually stressed his desire to stay at Old Trafford and now the 31-year-old has got his wish, it appears likely this contract will allow the Welsh captain to finish his playing days at his only professional club. 'I am quite confident I will finish my career at United,' he told the official Manchester United magazine. 'I have made no secret that I am enjoying life here and there is nowhere else I would want to go. 'At the moment I am just concentrating on playing well. Hopefully the end is a long way off.'

Giggs will look to become the first player for over a century to clinch a fifth FA Cup winners' medal on Saturday. Also now within reach is the club record appearance mark. Giggs' outing against Southampton yesterday was his 634th for the Red Devils, 120 behind Sir Bobby Charlton's all-time best mark.
Howard joined Manchester United last season from the Metrostars of Major League Soccer and immediately took the starting job from Fabien Barthez. "Tim is a young gifted goalkeeper who is progressing all the time and needs experience playing in our league,'' manager Alex Ferguson said. "This extended contract gives Tim the opportunity to progress in his career.'' "I have enjoyed my time so far with Manchester United, but you recognize you are always learning,'' Howard said. "The fans here are amazing and I am happy to be committing my future to the club.''
