Gallas Goes AWOL

William Gallas is heading for the Stamford Bridge exit after failing to show for Chelsea's American tour. He was due to report for training in Los Angeles this week. But he hasn't.
The central defender made it clear last season he'd had enough of playing left back, though he gamely put in some solid performances. I feel for the guy, he's a victim of his own talent. A few dodgy performances and his left back problem would have disappeared but he stuck at it like a pro.
Someone, somewhere must want to use Gallas' talents in central defence. Don't be surprised if the Frenchman is used as a substantial makeweight in Ashley Cole's inevitable transfer to Chelsea. Newcastle could do with him as well, and might fancy a bargain similar to the Duff deal (which was anything but).
