A new research study validates football fans' opinions that the Beautiful Game is indeed the most exciting sport in the world, and uses statistics to refute the argument of many American non-fans that matches are boring. After analyzing over 300,000 matches of various sports, a team of researchers concluded that soccer provides the greatest frequency of "upsets" of any of the measured sports: ice hockey, football, baseball and basketball in the US, and English footballlinks, according to the BBC.

Anyone who watched last year's Champions League Final in Istanbul could tell you that. Just look at the faces of the Milan fans here.
