A global journey…

Finalists Defy World Cup Odds

We now know that the winner of the World Cup will either be Spain or the Netherlands. This is a surprise match up that no one saw coming. It goes completely against anything we have seen before. In fact neither of these teams has ever won a World Cup, so no matter which team wins they will be making history in more ways that one.

Chances are that your previous bets for a finalist didn't include either of these teams. You likely went with one of the reliables, one of the teams that seem to do great everytime. These finalists defy all logic and all world cup odds. For starters, this will be the first time a European country has won on non-European soil. Neither of these teams met any prediction lists as a finalist and on top of all of this it will be a history making win no matter who takes the goal.

This is definitely something to be proud of. Even more fantastical is the fact that this will be the first time in the history of the World Cup that neither Brazil, Argentina, Italy or Germany has been in the finals. Fantastic odds! If there were ever a time to get excited about soccer, now is the time. I hope you all tune in for the World Cup 2010 finals.
