A global journey…

If you feel like BBC's Match Of The Day is becoming an old boys club, unwilling to criticize any of their jolly good pals on the pitch and nothing to offer but weak puns then maybe you should move to Ireland. Eamon Dunphy's punditry for RTE is often insightful, but when he's not impressed with a player, he says so. Here's the man's opinion on Djibril Cisse and Luis Garcia:

"It was Ragball Rovers out there with Cisse and Garcia. Look at Cisse. Somebody thought he was worth £14million at some stage. He's no left foot and no right. £14million and counting. They bought him a big mansion in Cheshire and now he's no more than a part of the landed gentry. Absolute rubbish."

And when asked his opinion of Harry Kewell:

"Fat. And a clown. A fat clown for all to see."

Dunphy’s a journalist/broadcaster but he’s also an ex-player. He played 23 time for Ireland, albeit before they were any good.

He’s always good for an outburst, even if you don’t agree with him. I’m guessing a lot of Liverpool fans have read this and turned the same colour as their shirts, which proves that he’s only entertaining until he insults your team.

Dunpphy is also Roy Keane’s biggest fan. Seriously. He was the ghostwriter of Keane’s ‘auto’biography. To see video of the man defending Keane after the MUTV scandal click here
