The first knock out round of the Champions League began last night with a mouth watering fixture between European legends AC Milan and the Premier League's most successful club Manchester United, and it didn't disappoint. It really should have only gone one way, with Ronaldinho scoring in the third minute to put the Italians in front, but with two headers from the on-form Rooney Utd were able to take an essential three points in the first leg, making their job in three weeks at Old Trafford much easier.
Arsenal play Porto tonight in Portugal and with a score draw could make it extremely likely that we see two English teams in the quarter-finals. Chelsea, however, have the most interesting game ahead of them next week as they must travel to Milan themselves to face the much stronger Internazionale, lead by one Jose Mourinho. Many have said so far that anything but a defeat for Ancelotti's men would be a good result, but with Inter Milan having been put out by English opposition now two years in a row it wouldn't be a bad bet to say that Chelsea can, quite easily, win this one.
