Blog Watch: Kickette

There are other blogs apart from S-W you know. I'm going to start highlighting a few as I come across them, and let you know what they're all about.

Most interesting recent discovery is Kickette: "for women who love the players as much as they love the game."

While in some (actually many) ways it's just girls checking out hot men, the site has a fantastic sense of humour. A bit like a Go Fug Yourself for soccer loving ladies.

Read their praise for Tottenham Hotspur's Jermaine Jenas, who they say is like "your own little Will Smith-a-like, except British, with smaller ears," and their reason why Rio Ferdinand and girlfriend Rebecca aren't on any magazine covers.

Based on my research, Kickette have taken a liking to the following players:

  • David Beckham (they even have a Beck Talk category)

  • Italy's 2006 World Cup squad, in their underwear

  • Middlesbrough's Matthew Bates

  • cristiano ronaldo, who they say is "a bit of a jackass. But we're big enough to put our differences aside when it comes to identifying hotness. Well done us."

  • Thierry Henry, who they honour with a photographic special
