Darren Bent will start for England against Uruguay. It's the Charllton strikers debut but it's also his one and only chance to impress Sven in an England shirt before the final World Cup squad is named.
This is a great decision, becuase it gives Bent a proper chance to show what he can do alongside Wayne Rooney, rather than confining him to a pointless 30 minute substitute appearance alongside another reserve. But this opportunity comes with a price. If Bent fails to perform against Uruguay, he can expect Jermaine Defoe to benefit and be named as Sven's fourth World Cup striker.
