A global journey…

We understand that the news circulating all day has finally been made official: Rafael Benitez is on his way out of Liverpool Football Club. By "mutual consent", the six-year manager has agreed a quick and easy divorce from the club as the board continue to follow the whims of co-owners Gillet and Hicks. Despite assurances from Broughton that the manager would not see his contract terminated before new owners were found, Champions League and FA Cup winning Benitez' era at LFC comes to an end.

He is the manager that discovered Pepe Reina, one of the best keepers in Europe, and the man that signed and mentored a promising Fernando Torres and made him into the world-class star he is today. Fans are inevitably split on the news, and while a new manager might seem to make the Americans in charge more stable, no doubt the Spirit of Shankly and Red and White Kop supporter groups will not let this go lightly.
