Beckham and Fergie: Five Words In Three Years

According to David Beckahm, Alex Ferguson has spoken just five words to him since his 2003 transfer to Real Madrid. "How are things over there?" (over there meaning Madrid) is what Fergie asked Beckham when both attended Jimmy Davis' funeral a few months after the move.

Beckham hopes they can smooth things out in the future, but paints an unnerving picture of his Old Trafford departure.

"I don't think he could handle the idea that he had lost control of me," said Beckham.

"I was in my car once, near the Trafford Centre on the outskirts of Manchester, when he rang me on my mobile phone.

"He was shouting at me and asking why I was in Barcelona. I told him I was in Manchester.

"He said a friend of his had just phoned him to say I was sitting opposite him at barcelona airport. I told him I was outside the Trafford Centre. He shouted 'don't f***ing lie to me' down the phone."

Charming.
