Arsenal Keeper To Sell Secrets
Filed in archive World Cup 2006 on October 4, 2006
Arsenal's Jens Lehmann is auctioning off the note he pulled from his sock before Germany's World Cup quarter-final penalty shootout against Argentina. He saved two Argentine kicks and sent the host nation through to the semis.
There's actually nothing secret about the note anymore, according to this Reuters report it reads:
1. Riquelme left high
2. Crespo long run/right, short run/left
3. Heinze left low
4. Ayala long wait, long run right
5. Messi left
6. Aimar long wait left
7. Rodriguez left
...only in German, obviously. The proceeds from the auction will go to charity.
