Arena Admits Germany Game Was Mistake

After an understrength USA lost 4-1 to Germany, Bruce Arena has admitted that scheduling the game was a mistake. He said:

to not prepare properly to play a game of that magnitude is a mistake, and I accept the full responsibility for that. If I felt that it wasn't the right time for us to play that game, I should have been a little bit strong in saying this is not the right time to play.

Arena had plenty of excuses to choose from, but it's about time managers stepped up to take responsibility when things go wrong.
