Al Itthad's Hamad Al Montashari won the AFC Player of the Year award which has generated the controversy I wrote about last week. Al Montashari is 23, making him the second youngest player to have won the award, according to Football Asia. The little defender may be looking to make a break from the Saudi side and get into a European team in the near future. This award won't hurt, for sure.
